Fraudster Sentenced in Frontier Disney Investment Scam

It’s always surprising when fraudsters can convince sophisticated people to give time and money to fake investments—especially after Madoff. However, Thomas W. Lucas successfully duped 250 people, including family members. He convinced them a fortune awaited in “Frontier Disney,” a fictitious Disney resort to be built about 50 miles north of Dallas. Lucas maintained his claim of innocence throughout a jury trial and was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison. Read the full FBI story here.
